Care & Use of Our Products
Jar candles
-
Place the jar candle on a heat resistant surface before lighting.
-
The first time you light the candle burn it continuously until the wax melts to the edge of the jar to ensure that all the wax will be used every time. Soy wax has a memory and this prevents the candle from tunnelling.
-
Do not use a lid to snuff out a candle. Blow it out or use a wick snuffer and then replace the lid once the white smoke dissipates. If you use a lid to snuff out a candle the fragrance can become tainted by the smell of the smoke.
-
Before re-lighting the candle trim the wick by removing the bent, burnt, brittle part. This can be nipped off or use a wick trimmer. The remaining part of the wick will be ready to go.
-
For optimum performance UAINE Candles should be burnt for up 4 hours at a time. Our tested candle burn times and best candle performance is based on this burn time.
-
Due to the properties of some containers, such as hand-blown glass jars, votives, or travel tins, candles can become warmer than usual if burnt for more than 4 hours at a time. Always exercise sensible caution when touching a candle that has been burning for some time.
-
Do not move a lighted candle.
-
Keep away from children, pets & drafts.
-
Read the warning label on the underside of the candle before using.
-
If you spill the wax, let it set and then lift it off. You can then wash with warm water and a little dish washing liquid.
-
Extreme environmental temperatures may cause melting. Do not leave candles in the car.
-
When you finish with the candle wash the jar in warm, soapy water to re-purpose as a container in your home.
-
Do not ingest.
Reed diffusers
-
Your reed diffuser comes in a glass bottle with a silicone bung and a collar. It also comes with a bundle of ten rattan reeds.
-
Remove all items from the packaging.
-
Unscrew the collar and carefully remove the bung from the top of the jar. The bung is in tight for a reason. If you have difficulty removing it use a sppon to lever tit out of the jar.
-
Replace the collar.
-
Insert the reeds into the neck of the bottle through the collar
-
Place the reed diffuser on a level surface away from drafts, children and pets.
-
Our reed diffusers are made with vegetable carrier oil and natural fragrance oil. Our reeds will only need turning when you want a fragrance boost or after a couple of weeks to remove any gathered dust.
-
Environmental factors, such as overhead fans and air conditioning, may significantly affect the longevity of the diffuser.
-
Do not light the reeds.
-
Do not ingest.
Travel Tins
-
Place the tin on a heat resistant, level surface before lighting.
-
The first time you light the candle burn it continuously until the wax melts to the edge of the tin to ensure that all the wax will be used every time. Soy wax has a memory and this prevents the candle from tunnelling.
