Caring for Your Reed Diffuser

A simple guide to long-lasting, natural fragrance in your home


There’s nothing quite like walking into a space that smells fresh, welcoming, and beautifully fragrant. Our reed diffusers are designed to do just that—fill your home with gorgeous natural fragrance for months (and often years!) on end, with minimal fuss. To help you get the most out of your UAINE Reed Diffuser, here’s everything you need to know.


What’s In The Box?

When you open your reed diffuser, you’ll find:

  • A 200ml glass bottle filled with our signature vegetable oil base blended with a premium natural fragrance, sealed with a silicon bung and screw top collar

  • A set of ten rattan reeds tied together


How To Set Up Your Diffuser:

  1. Remove the screw top collar from your diffuser bottle.

  2. Carefully remove the bung (this is the tight silicon stopper sealing the oil inside). It can be a bit tricky— so we recommend using a teaspoon or the flat edge of a butter knife to gently and safely wedge it out.

  3. Replace the screw top collar back onto the bottle once the bung is removed

  4. Snip the tie off your reeds and place the entire set into the bottle, allowing the rattan sticks to rest in the oil

  5. Let the reeds soak for 24 hours

  6. After 24 hours, flip the reeds to kick start them


And that’s it—your diffuser is now ready to gently release beautiful natural fragrance into your space.



Caring For Your Diffuser

Set and forget: Once your reeds are in place, you don’t need to do anything!


Want a stronger scent?  Flip all your reeds once a week for a refreshed burst of fragrance


Prefer a lighter scent?  Flip just a few reeds every couple of weeks or reduce the number of reeds in the jar


Little impact on longevity: Whether you flip often or rarely, it will barely impact how long your UAINE reed diffuser lasts


Cleaning tip: If dust settles on your reeds, simply wipe them gently with a damp paper towel to keep everything fresh and functioning at its best



Why Our Diffusers Are Different:

At UAINE, we don’t use petro-chemical based oil in our diffusers. Instead, we use a natural vegetable oil base, which:


  1. Provides longer life reed diffusers (typically up to 21 months, or even longer!)

  2. Prevents fast evaporation, meaning your fragrance doesn't just disappear into the air

  3. Ensures a gentle, consistent fragrance that slowly releases from the rattan reeds over time


Because our diffusers don’t rely on high levels of alcohol to disperse scent, the fragrance is gently drawn up through the rattan reeds and slowly released. This makes them perfect for low-maintenance, long-term enjoyment. Just place it on a flat, stable surface away from direct sunlight and strong air flow and let it work its magic.
