What an Unexpected Accolade!!

Just like everybody else, we sometimes have to work really hard ('head down, bum up' as I've often been known to say!) with little or no reward. For us all at UAINE Candles our rewards are measured in: seeing the delighted faces of customers visiting our Candle Cellar Door in Morpeth for their first time to experience our beautiful fragrances and safer, healthier candles; returning customers wanting to buy from us again; people buying from us on-line when they can't get to the Candle Cellar Door or one of our 200+ stockists; customers telling their family and friends about us; and, receiving heart-warming reviews online. These things keep us motivated and confirms that what we do really does make a difference to peoples' health, safety and enjoyment of life.

Then out of the blue comes something special. Winning the Hunter Region Business of the Year 2023 award last week says that (most of the time) we are doing things right. And when we don't do things right we bend over backwards to put things right. As we grow and as we build out the organisation our job is to maintain our philosophy and approach so that we don't lose the 'edge' that we have developed. So, this blog is to recognise three sets of people critical to our continued and continuing success:

  • Our wonderful, loyal customers - without you all, where would we be? We do love our customers. As I repeat to the UAINE team in the Candle Cellar Door - we have a wonderful job! Where else could you spend each day with the gift of finding new 'friends'? We know many of you well. We look forward to you returning to Morpeth to visit the Candle Cellar Door. We are delighted to see your names appear on our online order list. And those of you who join the UAINE Clan (sign-up on our home page - JOIN CLAN) where we can treat you as being even more special. So...thank you!

  • Our stockists - our coverage is steadily growing and we are now represented in every State and Territory in Australia. Where there is a local stockist to you, we encourage you to visit them. Retail isn't always a great place to be and currently some are doing it tough, so your help can make a big difference. Purchasing locally is a great way to help your local economy. Purchasing UAINE products is a great way to recognise that being, owning and manufacturing in Australia is worthwhile and rewarding (and unfortunately in our business so many Australian candle makers are far from being Australian owned and operated)! To our quality stockists such as Ficus in Forster, Charlize Rose in Port Macquarie, Beaumont Street Newsagency in Hamilton - thank you for your support. For our new relationships such as Luna Laguna in Warners Bay, Peterson House in Pokolbin, News Travels in Newcastle Airport, The Huntress in Wagga Wagga and Saphire Park Alpacas in Woodberry - welcome!

  • Our dedicated, professional, friendly, awesome team members (some who were present at the Hunter Region Awards Gala Dinner - see below). You will know many of them as we like them all to spend time with our customers in the Candle Cellar Door. Thank you to you all. We truly couldn't do this without you.

Remember, we have beautiful, cleaner, safer, healthier candles and long-lasting reed diffusers. UAINE candles and reed diffusers make your house a home and the world a better place!!
